  11. This document contains information about installing and using the Print 
  12. Selection Add-In for Microsoft Excel v5 and v7.

  15. -------
  16. The idea for the Print Selection Add-In came to me whilst I was writing a 
  17. Spreadsheet to colate and calculate manpower costs at different labour rates
  18.  
  19. The problem "Print Selection" overcomes is not being able to print 
  20. non-contiguous ranges of cells to a single sheet.
  21.

  35. Suppose you wanted a printout of the above table for the week 15/01/95 and 
  36. week 22/01/95 but you want the code column to cross reference to!
  37.  
  38. If you select the columns in question and then use the normal Excel print 
  39. command, the code column prints on a sepperate sheet!, not very useful!
  40. "Print Selection" overcomes this problem.

  45. Version 1.1 - Public Release late 1995
  46.     Made user friendly.
  47. Version 1.2 - Released March 1996
  48.     Bug Fix - did not correctly copy cells if they were resized.
  49.     Bug Fix - A number of Excelv7 Problems caused by subtle changes in the Excel code. 
  50.     Added on-line registration feature, allowing user to disable the Nag-Screen.

  52. Installation
  53. ------------
  54. The installation process is detailed below.
  55. It is the same for both Excel v5 and Excelv7
  56.  
  57. 1) Open Microsoft Excel.
  58. 2) Create a New borkbook.
  59. 3) From the "Tools" Menu select "Add-Ins..."
  60. 4) Select "Browse..."
  61. 5) Locate the file "PRINTSEL.XLA" and press "OK"
  62. 6) Select "Yes" to copy the Add-In to Library
  63.  
  64. Using "Print Selection"
  65. -----------------------
  66. Print Selection has been written to be seamless to the user.
  67. There have been no menu additions to activate the command. The "File"
  68. "Print..." command has been redirected.
  69.  
  70. To show it working, create a spreadsheet with a few cells completed.
  71. e.g. Put "A" in cell A1, "B" in cell B1 etc and copy down a few lines.
  72.  
  73. Select cell A1 only, Select "Print...", the normal print dialog should
  74. appear.  Press "Cancel".
  75.  
  76. Select cells A1:A3 then press Ctrl whilst selecting cells C1:C3. This is a
  77. non-contiguous range. Select "Print...", the "Print Selection" dialog box 
  78. should appear.

  81. Registration
  82. ------------
  83. If you like "Print Selection" and intend to use it, please register it, 
  84. All it will cost you is ú5.00 Stirling.
  85. See REGISTER.TXT for more information.

  87. Registered Users are entitled to six months unlimited eMail support and
  88. will automatically receive any major bug fixes during this period.
  89. Registered users will recieve a registration number which will allow them to
  90. disable the opening and closing nag screens (The about box showing when the 
  91. add-in is opened and closed). 
  92. The Registration Numbers will be eMailed to the user on receipt of the 
  93. registration fee.

  96. Unfortunately CompuServe's Minimum Software Cost is $10
  97. To use this option GO SWREG and follow the prompts.
